Hello wonderful people, got quite a pickle. I've recently built a PC for my friend and sent it to her, original box with foam, also foam expanding thingies in the case all that jazz.
The PC arrived and there is no video issue. Instant thought.... hmmm she must have plugged it into the motherboard which she didn't, did it correctly. Next thing I've asked if the monitor is receiving signal from the GPU (blue LED instead of an orange) - Yes, there is a blue LED.
What do you think it might be, unseated GPU? I've told her to push on it and make sure it's in but I am doubtful about the forced used, same with RAM. She is not super tech savy, what we should try next POST codes or just have her to send it back?
Thank you
System specs:
7500F/Thermalright cooler
XFX RX 6800 Quick 319
GIGABYTE B650 GAMING AX V2
Kingston FURY 6000CL30 32gig kit
SK Hynix P31 2TB
EVGA P2 750W
Torrent Compact

Status LEDs indicate whether the CPU, memory, graphics card, and operating system are functioning correctly after the system powers on. If the CPU/DRAM/VGA LED is illuminated, it suggests the respective component isn’t working properly; if the BOOT LED is lit, it means you haven’t yet entered the operating system.

CPU: CPU status indicator
DRAM: Memory status indicator
VGA: Graphics card status indicator
BOOT: Operating system status indicator

The color codes aren’t specified. Could you confirm what color each should display?
Regarding the monitor issue, I noticed it changes color depending on whether the GPU is receiving a signal (blue LED instead of orange). I’m unsure if this is related to the monitor or the motherboard debug LEDs. My new monitor is blue when active and orange when idle or no signal detected. It reminds me of an old printer that broke after being shipped—probably endured rough handling during transport. You might want to avoid sending it through a tumble dryer again.

To be certain it was handled carefully, consider delivering it yourself in the future.
If you need to push a GPU, you’d have to remove it, release the PCI-e latch, and reinsert it properly. However, it’s possible the entire system might need inspection for damage or cracks on the motherboard PCB.

PCs are shipped occasionally with issues, but errors aren’t completely out of the question.

Yes, wanted to try the status LEDs but she was quite stressed so we will do that today.
The exact monitor model shows an orange LED when there is no signal from the GPU or it's in the Sleep mode.
It's blue when there should be an image and it's receiving signal from the GPU, which it does.
I thought not much can happen to it when I pack it in the original box with foam and also expandable foam inside so there is no movement, guess I was wrong.
Thank you we will try the status LEDs fingers crossed.

Usually just one or two pins are required to connect, providing enough power; if the cable isn't fully seated it still won't show. Ask her to capture high-quality photos of the GPU and MOTO connection, with the HDMI cable plugged in, as well as a broader view of the PC interior.

I was completely confused when I deployed my brother, who happens to live nearby. He’s stuck on a VGA display. We’ve tried several things: re-seating the GPU and cables, reseating RAM, switching monitors and cables to other places, and clearing the CMOS. Even after doing all that, nothing worked. I packed everything carefully with foam, and everything checked out visually. My brother plans to use an older backup GPU tomorrow.

A possible clue: the PC has RGB lighting, custom color settings for RAM and fans controlled via software. They change after booting into Windows, especially when the VGA LED is on but no image appears. The BOOT LED isn’t lit either.

Update 2
R9 290X is functioning properly... it seems the RX 6800 might have been damaged somehow. Possible reasons include tightening the case, installing a GPU support bracket, or adding foam pieces from all sides, even between the side panel and heatsink. I don't know what caused it.
I hate computers.
