I purchased this cable:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/1005...ma...194dRC7qr5&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt
I intended to use it as a data transfer cable between a Kobo eReader and a Windows 11 computer.
But the computer doesn't recognize the Kobo eReader via this cable.
It only identifies the reader with the original cable provided by the manufacturer.
Do you know why the AliExpress cable doesn't function as a data transfer cable for the Kobo?
Thanks

From the web page, it seems you bought a "Charging" cable. It isn't a charge/DATA cable. Also, it only has four wires and two contacts on its port, so it's not a data cable.

Sorry, this page indicates it is also a data cable, correct? Where can you find the number of wires and contacts?

The images you mentioned contain the necessary information. The cable features 4 wires—Red, Black, Green, and White—with two hot connections and two ground connections. The other image displays the connector, which only has two contacts at the top of the plug. The wiring configuration varies depending on the device, with some using 4 wires for power and data, others for charging and data, or different combinations altogether. For instance, I own two USB-C charging cables; using one allows my phone to charge in about 2.5 hours, while the other takes roughly 7 hours. They appear very similar in appearance.

Concerned. It could function as a data cable for certain devices, though not yours.
