I haven't tried it before, but connecting USB speakers to your monitor through HDMI might not work directly. You'd need a separate audio output or a different setup to get sound from the speakers.

It relies on your monitor's USB connection type. If it acts as a data hub, yes; if it only provides power, no. Connecting a media player cable to the monitor works similarly to using a USB hub for audio devices. However, if the monitor merely supplies power without data, it functions like charging speakers through a phone adapter.

The Media Player is a software tool used to play audio and video files. It isn't a physical device but rather an application on your computer. On a media server, you can select the audio playback settings, which may include options for USB speakers. You can then choose which speakers to use for playback.

This setup seems unusual. The media player connects via HDMI to the monitor, which has multiple USB ports—though I’m unsure if any are data connections. I’ll need to investigate further. The AV port on the player works fine when connected to speakers, but using it with a TV only plays video without audio. Switching to AV mode doesn’t resolve the issue.

Check the manual for a section that lists USB port types or data ports. Look for labels or descriptions near the ports. If unclear, contact support for clarification.

The USB on the screen acts as a central connection point; the ports won’t function without linking the monitor’s USB to your main device or computer. You can’t use USB over HDMI.

I checked the instructions and noticed you needed to link the USB 3.0 cable from the monitors upstream to a computer. Even with that setup, connecting USB speakers to the monitor seems unlikely unless they’re built into it. Linking a media player via HDMI to the monitor’s audio output also appears possible, as shown in the product page for this model.

It would generate its own audio signal independently, similar to connecting directly to the media player when available. The display has no influence on this process.
