I have just upgraded to the latest version 115.3.3
Now when I open and email the heading title of all my other emails, they appear in what looks like the favorites bar in a browser.

This behavior did not occur on the previous version, how can I stop it?

These are panels. Just close the tabs once you're done.

Not a Thunderbird user [full disclosure].
Possibilities:
1) The earlier version didn’t do that.
2) The earlier version did but the feature was turned off.
3) The latest version just set it to enabled by default and needs to be disabled again.
4) An add-on is now missing or present.
Check Thunderbird’s configuration settings for more details.
