The overall network condition at your parents' place is quite poor, and you're trying to improve coverage toward their backyard. There are existing repeaters and detectors, but you need both options. I was hoping for a single device that handles both functions, but the main issue is they likely still use outdated telecom hybrid routers. I'm unsure if a regular router can support both effectively. I don't understand how detector repeaters work, but I think Wi-Fi repeating shouldn't be too much of a problem. Could someone with experience help you set up a budget-friendly solution for both Wi-Fi and detector coverage in their backyard?

I'm unfamiliar with DECT, but I've used repeaters before—I wonder why they're not a common choice. Repeaters are generally affordable for the performance you get. The main reason people avoid them is often security concerns. For instance, some companies choose not to use repeaters and instead install new Cisco access points, testing different models to find the right range. You can even link repeaters together to connect to a router and maintain internet access.

General video content. Compatibility with your routers or access points depends on their available settings.

Dect is a distinct wireless communication method often associated with traditional phones, like landline devices. If you searched for it, you might have gotten a clearer idea, though this applies mainly to Wi-Fi.

I didn’t receive clear details, so I’m guessing you’re looking for a reliable router option. Try searching online for “crappy telekom hybrid router” to find your choice.

jesus christ if i’m focusing only on dect reaping and you’re unsure what dect means, then there’s no point in answering. it’s basically called speedport hybrid—just a weak setup for a router with a terrible OS justification.
