Question about the PCIe connector pin layout for the Gigabyte B700H power supply unit
Good afternoon,
I have a query about the proper pin configuration of the PCIe connector on the Gigabyte B700H power supply. Due to organizational needs, I had to replace the original cable that came with the PSU.
For this purpose, I bought two replacement cables: one from AliExpress labeled as an original Gigabyte cable and another custom-made version intended to match the correct pinout.
I currently own a Gigabyte Aorus RX 580 graphics card, which I haven’t used yet because of the missing connection. Before plugging in either cable, I’d like to verify if they are suitable.
From what I understand, on the GPU side (PCIe standard), when viewing the connector from the front with the retention clip at the top, the first three pins on the upper row (left to right) should read +12V, and the rest should be GND.
Please let me know if my assumptions are correct, and thank you for your help.

This would be a standard setup, indeed. The best approach is to measure it. With the PSU connected, you should see about 12V on the output and near zero on each pin. Multimeters are affordable and definitely useful for basic voltage checks. After confirming, plug in your cable and verify the voltages at the 'GPU' side just to be sure.
