I recently increased my i5-6600k to 4.5 GHz at a steady 1.31 volts in the bios (the lowest setting that gave stable results). On Intel burn test/aida64 temperatures never exceeded the upper 70s (air cooled).
My concern is whether this voltage is safe for running a computer for 4 to 8 hours each day.

I agree, 1.31v isn't that high and your temperatures are solid. I think it would be better to aim a bit higher if you're stable at 1.31v and 4.5ghz. Generally, most users consider anything below 1.4v with good temps acceptable for regular use.

I agree, 1.31v isn't that high and your temperatures are solid. I'd suggest aiming a bit higher if you're stable at 1.31v and 4.5ghz. Generally, most users find anything below 1.4v with good temps acceptable for regular use.
