Perform a reset, format, and clean install of Windows 10. The main C drive will be formatted, while Steam games are placed elsewhere. If you install fresh Steam on the new Windows 10 installation, the Steam apps should recognize the games again. No need to use Steam’s backup feature or restore games after installing Fresh Windows unless you want to keep them.

Adjust the Steam Library in settings to the desired folder path. Simple process. Settings > Downloads > Content Libraries

The backup and restore feature is used to protect data by saving copies and allowing recovery when needed. If you have several internal drives, you can rely on this tool to keep your information safe.

In my profile the 860 EVO 1tb is part of my Steam library drive, I follow the same steps as you. I previously had it on a different drive, purchased the new one, then transferred it. That’s enough. I’m not sure about the backup method for Steam—maybe an external drive if you only have one and plan to swap it out, though I haven’t used that yet.

You can choose to apply Driver Booster 6 for updates or stick with Windows 10 updates. Just let me know your preference, and I’ll help you set it up.

I tried one of those aftermarket driver tools (probably DriverMax) and it kept needing updates, which made me anxious. Plus the cost or the ads were annoying. I didn’t enjoy it at all. Instead, just focus on updating Windows 10 for the essentials.

Certain games lack sound effects for various reasons, such as budget constraints, technical limitations, or design choices aimed at reducing audio complexity.
