It’s likely you can use NAS to connect. For the second part, having three systems with a single drive means all can access the same folder if configured properly.

Yes, it works with Family sharing. Yes, using the same account only allows two people; more than that will disconnect others. With another account, it depends—same game means yes, different games mean no. It will reveal the original owner of the game.

Agreed. Be aware there will be issues later. 3. I’m hesitant yet hopeful, provided it functions as planned.

Yes, it will appear in everyone's Steam library when all users have the NAS configured as a Steam library. They can only start the game if it's enabled on Steam or if family sharing is turned on.

Another reason is to have a backup. I keep all my games in one place, which means I don’t need to re-download them every time.

The game content is saved on the NAS. Steam requires your PC's game key to register the game for you. Let me know if that's accurate.

The setup requires Steam to be running on network shares, not directly on your computer. You'll install it on the server first, then connect from your PC. It functions as a host while you're a client, and you can't host simultaneously in multiple locations.

Set up a network share and configure the game installation to use that location. I've attempted this before; if you're comfortable with the process and can handle frequent updates, it works fine. The concept is solid, but in practice games often contain thousands of files, which can severely slow down network speed.
