You can still enjoy playing with friends who have the game on Xbox One even when using VR and a joystick, as long as everyone is on the same platform. The VR setup and controller work together with the console, so multiplayer should function normally.

I think that's a good idea. I plan to try it out next week when a friend brings it home for his Xbox.

yeah i doubt im going to be that good tbh, though i did really well in vr with a xbox controller, so now im just patiently waiting (i did also purchase elite dangerous today while waiting for the flight stick)
