Question about Skyrim ENB
Question about Skyrim ENB
Hey there, just wanted to ask if it's typical for the frame rate to drop so much when using ENB in Skyrim. The vanilla version is decent, but with ENB it seems to skyrocket performance. However, my tries have caused a big dip from 60 to around 20-35 fps. I'm curious if this is normal or if something's going wrong. My setup: Intel i5-4690k, MSI GTX 970, Kingston Fury 2x4GB RAM. Thanks, Joey!
Some ENB's require you to change something in the files to match your hardware spec to make the program take advantage of all of your hardware. For example, it should be telling you to change a line in notepad for the mod to match the amount of VRAM you have on your video card.
You're working with the RealVision ENB and typically have three options: Highest, Medium, and Performance. Using Medium at 60+ FPS is possible, but selecting Highest drops performance to about 45 FPS (even with around 95 mods installed). Experimenting with the enblocal.ini file in your Skyrim directory might help improve frame rates further.
It seems normal, if not, I've been doing it wrong. ENBs have lots of setting if you want to change them (Shift + Enter), I keep it max because I can but on dual 780s I run at 30-40 fps.
Well for my rig, it's in my signature. As for my enblocal.ini file, I'll upload it for you. This is an example of what I've got going right now:
Here are the standard NVidia ENBlocal configurations for the default settings on 3GB cards using ENBoost 4GB cards.
