Hi,
I'm searching for a triple 27 inch monitor mount that can also serve as a desk mount. My desk is height-adjustable, which makes it easier to find the right fit. For sim racing, I need the screens positioned closer to my racing seat, so I’m considering options like the Ergotron HX, which has one single arm with a bracket for mounting three monitors. Its maximum size is 26 inches, which isn’t enough for my setup. I’m thinking about adding an offset bracket—commonly used for height adjustments—to move it further out and accommodate a larger monitor. This would be a practical solution or could there be another monitor arm I haven’t heard of that fits better? Another idea is using three separate mounts, but that would take up more desk space. Here are some links to products I found:
- Ergotron HX arm
- Offset bracket
Kind regards,
Billy

If you wait until tomorrow,
@Rogue Leader could assist you more effectively than anyone else in the area because he operates at a higher level and is deeply engaged in that racing simulation community.

My experience mainly involves full cockpit setups. But my main worry is that the vibration from using a FFB wheel on your desk might make the monitors shake. Most sim cockpits have more robust mounts or they're detached from the cockpit. While it uses more space, I believe having three separate mounts on a desk would be a better option. Or perhaps skip this idea and opt for an ultrawide setup?

I'm using a playseat evolution positioned next to my desk during sim races. When I move it under my desk, vibrations don't affect the desk. However, since I sit slightly away from it, I need to bring my monitors closer to the edge, or else they'd be too far. I've estimated I'll require a 60-degree angle for my screens, but most triple screen monitor arms only allow around 15 degrees.
I'm likely to opt for three separate mounts and check if any have a smaller footprint so I can manage desk space better.

Ah I see, thats a good thing. Yes most triple screen mounts aren't really made to surround you like a true cockpit mount setup. At least with the 3 separate mounts you can get that angle you want. The only downside is you're going to be fine tuning the position every time you use them.
You don't have the room to maybe use something like this on the opposite side of your desk?

Or maybe like slide it out from behind the desk when you're going to use it, and have just the cockpit and monitors together?

I have room for this, but it looks like it's essentially just another fixed triple monitor stand that's not very mobile, though it might be more durable.
It remains on the back of the desk, which is too far from my seat, and it doesn't change height with my desk. Considering all this, I think I'll go for the drawbacks of three monitor arms instead, which isn't the worst option.

I was thinking more that you would move this stand from behind your desk and put it in front of your Playseat, When you are racing, if there is room? So instead of putting the playseat under the desk, you just move yourself right (or left) to where you'd have room to properly put this. Get some long monitor cables to facilitate the movement.
