Question about Ryzen 2600x overclocking solution
I recently assembled my first PC in more than a decade and attempted overclocking for the initial time. Based on the outcomes, I believe the auto booster will suffice for me, possibly even close to optimal. However, I'm facing difficulties reverting to auto mode. I've tried applying optimization settings through the BIOS (Asus Rog Strix b-450) and switched Ryzen Master to auto, but each time it prompts a restart and remains in Manual mode afterward. I appreciate any advice or guidance you can provide.
Updating the BIOS settings should resolve the issue. What method are you using to verify your current status?
When I perform that action it brings my clock down to the base 3.6ghz, yet when I open Ryzen Master it still indicates the current profile is set to Manual. I'm relatively new to overclocking but have been spending a lot of time reading. After loading defaults shouldn't Ryzen Master automatically switch to auto? My main concern is that before it was on auto, it would jump between 3.6 and 4.2 without warning. This behavior matches what I expect, but I feel it's stuck in Manual mode.
I believe I understand the situation here.
You need to "profile 1" at the bottom of Ryzen Master.
Then choose "reset profile" at the bottom, followed by "save profile," and finally "apply" at the top.
This should bring you back to a default profile set to manual mode without requiring a reboot.
If needed, you can also apply the same adjustments to "profile 2."
I was really excited to attempt that after coming home from work, but unfortunately it continued to do the same thing.
After the reset profile didn't succeed, I decided to try an alternative method. Clearing the BIOS in the traditional way with the jumper worked. Thanks for your assistance.
