Question about Rufus and the correct subforum
trying to use Rufus [ver4.11] for building a win 11 [25H2 build] without a TPM USB drive, but after moving the iso files into a folder and opening Rufus, choosing "disk or image," then using the file button to point it to the folder I encounter the "device is in use by another process" error 6780. I attempted to disable the controlled access folder setting, but the issue persists. Earlier, using Rufus for a 24H2 build worked fine, so I thought it would be better for this one, but I’m unsure what’s wrong. Anyone can help me fix this? Thanks.

Ok, I want to thank you guys for putting up with a dum dum.
After thinking I would try again tomorrow, I decided to try one more time and I figured out what I was doing wrong.
Where the "select" button is, there is a drop down arrow, it cycle between "select" and "download".
Above it is a button shaped like a floppydisk and I believed that was the button to direct to the .iso image.
It was not. It directs what drive the bootable goes to ie: the usb you are using.
After all that it was the "select" button I needed to click on, not just the arrow to select.
That button opens the folder containing the .iso pak and then boom it works flawlessly.
Again my thanks for keeping me trying, and apologies for my dunce move.
This is a great place...
I'm assuming you reviewed this guide;
Make a bootable Windows 11 ISO without TPM, Secure Boot and RAM needs.
Full details are on the link, and RUFUS handles everything for you. Just need...
Yes, I have completed all those tasks. The top dropdown displays my USB stick, but when I choose disk or ISO and click the folder icon, pointing to my ISO download, it indicates that the device is being used by another process. I also tried Rufus 4.9, and I'm considering using an even older version, though I remember those older versions didn't work well with the Windows 11 25H2 build.
