Question About Random PC Reboots/Freezes?
Question About Random PC Reboots/Freezes?
Hello,
About two months back I assembled a new gaming PC. From the very beginning I've faced ongoing issues with this machine, which have only intensified over time. Initially it was freezing, then reboots followed, and now it seems they're happening together. About 95% of the time the system restarts itself, freezes are rare but unavoidable when it does. This situation is completely new to me, and I'm feeling uncertain about how to fix it. I'm concerned that one component might be defective.
I'm currently stuck with a black screen—no BIOS startup screen appears. However, after turning off the PC for 30 minutes and restarting, I see this message:
"New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed."
I always press the N key to continue booting. Usually I bypass the Windows login and can use the PC for hours without forcing a reboot. But sometimes it takes about eight hours straight on two days without any issues, only to have it fail again.
I've run benchmarks under heavy load (CPU burner + Heaven Benchmark), and the PC performs well. After forced reboots or freezes, I repeatedly try to boot, but the screen remains black and reboots more often. Sometimes it's so frequent that I can't even reach the BIOS menu. This is what worries me, as it suggests a possible hardware problem.
I've taken a photo of error logs in Event Viewer that appear at startup:

(sorry for the poor quality)
If anyone can assist, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Troubleshooting attempts:
- Swapped one RAM stick
- Disconnected GPU from power and connected display port to motherboard
- Performed stress tests on CPU and GPU
Computer details:

GPU: 7900 XT
CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D

FIX: A new CPU has been installed. fTPM NV may be corrupted or its structure altered in Windows 10/11.
this guide provides steps to resolve the error "New CPU installed. fTPM NV corrupted or fTPM NV structure changed" on a Windows 10/11 machine or laptop.
Thank you. I'll review it over the weekend to check if it's useful.
I turned off the fTPM in BIOS and completed other troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. I tried opening Google Chrome for two minutes and the computer froze. The screen went black with only the cursor visible. On the second attempt it restarted, and on the third it displayed a blue screen. After the blue screen, the system keeps rebooting repeatedly in the BIOS startup menu.
Thank you for your attention! 😊
Some people mention that certain BIOS update versions might cause problems with B650 motherboards. I updated it two months ago, but I noticed a newer version available online, so I plan to try updating it again to check if the issues resolve.
I swapped out my old motherboard for an ASRock B650 LiveMixer. When I started the PC, the CPU LED lit up and the DRAM LED kept flashing. There was no BIOS screen, and the fans ran nonstop. I expected this because the new CPU was supposed to work but seemed faulty. I’m not sure how this could have happened since it had been functional before.
Okay so I've bought another CPU, same as previously - I still get CPU LED on a motherboard along side with DRAM flashing constantly, no screen. I'm so close to giving up. I honestly don't know what's wrong.
Replaced mobo - still not working
Replaced CPU - still not working
What's going on with this PC, is it RAM now?
