I've been considering a RAM upgrade for my system. My current setup includes a 2400Mhz G.Skill Aegis with 16GB of memory, paired with an i7-8700K processor that clocks in over 4.4Mhz, and a 1070TI GPU with 8GB of video RAM. Here are my thoughts:

1. Would it be more beneficial to purchase another 2400Mhz G.Skill 16GB stick in duel-channel mode?
2. Should I opt for two 8GB RAM sticks at 3200Mhz, which seems to optimize performance?
3. Or should I simply ignore this and stick with what I have?

Let me know your thoughts!

Intel systems aren't experiencing significant real performance improvements from faster clocked memory compared to AMD. It's better to focus on your RAM rather than spending extra money on an upgrade. I suggest optimizing your CPU with OC settings, achieving a stable 4.8GHz all-core speed—your 8700K runs at 5.0GHz. For better cooling, invest in a superior cooler to boost CPU performance, which you'll clearly see. Choosing 3200MHz RAM won't make a noticeable impact.

With just one stick of RAM, opting for dual channel will make a noticeable impact. A 3200 MHz processor will beat a 2400 MHz one, though the gap isn’t massive. Dual channel offers a bigger boost. Ultimately, either choice makes sense. Are you aiming for 32 GB or 16 GB? That’s the key decision. Both configurations should be affordable, so choose based on your needs. Keep an eye on it. Jay shared this great video last week.

If you have access to a Crucial Ballistix Sport LT or AT 2x8GB 3200Mhz system, choose that one. It offers some customization options and strong performance. The image shown is from a Ryzen3900x setup, though those memory modules work very well.

Choose dual channel for optimal performance, and based on your upgrade timeline, a 32GB package makes sense now due to its low cost; prices may rise later. Plan around Black Friday for deals. Previously, solid gains were possible with faster RAM, but Intel still offers good returns.

You're welcome on the answers! It's great you're thinking about this. Based on your research, here are your options:
1. Purchase additional RAM to hit the 32GB target, especially since digital art might need more memory.
2. Look for a discount on two 8GB RAM modules with faster speeds (around 3200 MHz).
