Oh okay. Yeah, I thought I heard that sort of thing in a YT video or read that somewhere before that Intel is much more forgiving on memory speeds and what not. Yeah, I know the stock speeds of most Intel is 2666MHz, that's what I used to run at on my old x99 system I gave to my dad for his music production. I've OC'd my CPU to 4.7GHz and OC'd my GTX 980 I used to have before the 1080ti I have now, but never OC'd RAM. Would you have any advice on the matter? Or a link to any videos that talk about that?

I've mostly avoided official memory support, the only exceptions were with early Ryzen and X370 models where I was limited to 2400MHz. That changed after BIOS updates resolved the issue. Motherboard makers don't test every memory product on the market—they mainly provide recommendations. I haven't checked a QVL list in over six years of building, aside from my X370 setup. Adjusting memory settings isn't complicated. I once shared with new builders on the forum how to manually apply an OC without their XMP profile loading. The 'reboot' process only occurs if the memory or XMP setup becomes unstable; it restarts and returns to the default state.

The same results come from RGB and Non-RGB as long as both meet the QVL requirements. The parts in the QVL generally perform significantly better than any similar kit not included there. When you apply the XMP profile for a QVL part, timing settings will load automatically and are already partially optimized.

It lacks PCIe lanes (though possible), but offers quad-channel memory instead of the dual-channel found in Kaby Lake.

I've heard about some memory problems with the first-gen Ryzen. That's understandable. Alright, I'll consider the 4-stick setup and see how it performs. If needed, I'll manually add my own items. Check out some YouTube videos for more info. Lol
