I have a query: My motherboard B460M DS3H V2 (rev. 1.0) has specifications mentioning Intel Core processors supporting DDR4 speeds up to certain rates. I need to confirm if my i5 11400f and TeamGroup Elite 1x16 work with those standards. I also have a Samsung memory module that claims 4000MHz, but the motherboard limits RAM to 2666MHz. Can I upgrade to a compatible RAM and enable XMP profiles to reach 4000MHz?

The B460 chipset typically doesn’t allow memory overclocking, though the 11400F is designed for up to 3200MHz, so it should perform at most on that board. Regarding the Patriot Viper Steel kits, they’re excellent for overclocking because they’re affordable and reliable, but their XMP profiles are often ineffective since many CPUs and boards don’t support them. Even if you activate XMP, there’s no assurance it will function properly.

Sure! Do you have any suggestions for RAM speeds around 3200MHz? I’m thinking about switching to dual-channel and noticed better performance in some games.

It varies based on your budget. Affordable 2x8 3200MHz CL16 sets work well; consider upgrading to a 3200MHz CL16 with 16GB for better performance. For top-tier results, 3200MHz CL14 kits exist but tend to be costly and only justify manual overclocking of RAM.
