I placed the faulty RAM in a new build for a family member a few weeks back. When I noticed it wasn’t functioning, I replaced it with a 16GB DDR4 3200 kit (two 8GB sticks) from another system. After installing both, I realized I had no RAM at all—my computer was still booting but the monitor didn’t display any video output. The orange indicator light suggested a RAM problem. Even though I’m getting new RAM soon, I’m still puzzled why it wouldn’t work with just one stick. Everything else seems fine, and the fans are spinning. My motherboard is the B450-F from Rogers. The RAM I’m using is 16GB DDR4 3200 Patriot Viper CPU:2700 GPU:Rx570.
It seems your system might already have an overclock or xmp applied. Restore the BIOS to its original settings before adding new RAM.
It mentioned detecting new hardware and resetting the BIOS. If not, consider resetting the BIOS to its default settings. Disconnect the power from the wall, remove the CMOS battery, wait five minutes, reinsert the battery, then reconnect power and plug it back in.
You can also revert the previous RAM and reinitialize the BIOS..=x
there are specific "clear CMOS" pins on the motherboard that require connecting with a metal tool, while the computer remains unplugged. removing the battery doesn’t always produce the desired result. Check the motherboard manual for detailed instructions.
Usually I leave it out a bit longer to be safe. Haha...you might also try the jumper, too...xD...
