Question about PSU to CPU cable.
I am setting up a SeaSonic Core GX-650 ATX3 PSU. The unit includes an 8-pin to 8-pin PSU cable for the CPU (refer to the image below).

But the power-only slot only accepts a 4-pin cable (the four white cells near the center). Do I require a different cable or a converter? If yes, what should I look for? Thank you ahead of time for your assistance.

Does the 8 pin cable divide into two sections? When examining the left side of the plug, it matches the pin layout of the socket. Previously, this was a standard feature allowing such splits, though today most motherboards use 8 pin connectors or even dual 8 pin CPU ports. In certain situations, you can simply insert the left half into the jack and leave the remaining four pins exposed. Avoid forcing it—if it fits, it will install easily. I recommend searching for a short 8 pin ATX cable extension that can split the plug in two. This is just an example, but the main reason I chose it was because the photo is very clear. It’s a replacement kit designed to swap all cables for a more attractive look. Likely, a similar option exists with a single cable for under $5.
