Question about PSU stability - Xilence XN052 Redwing R7 500W
Hey! I'm sharing this with my friend about his PC upgrade plans. He's getting a Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, and 1050 Ti, plus a used GTX 970 with PSU for 100€. He wants to swap the GPU soon, aiming for something comparable to an RTX 2070. I mentioned the reliability issues of the PSU he bought and suggested getting a new one instead, along with a better GPU later. He's convinced the PSU is fine because the GPU's TDP is only about 220W and the PSU is 500W (with 384W on the 12V rail). I'm asking for your thoughts—should he upgrade the power supply or is the Xilence XN052 sufficient for his setup? Also, does the 2008 Antec Earthwatts PSU he had work for his GTX 970?
