The PSU features two MBUs with different pin configurations. One has 8 pins, the other 20. The image shows these at the top. The main power cable for the motherboard has 24 pins on the side that connects to the PSU. It’s a good setup—no issues there. The cable side that plugs into the PSU includes both a 20-pin and an 8-pin connector, making it easy to use both. I’m wondering if I should connect both in or just the 20-pin version. Just remember this cable has the 24-pin adapter on the other end. Thanks for the info—I’d rather avoid damaging anything by being careful.

as far as I recall, the secondary was just for specific overclocking choices.
since they came on my boards, i've always linked them from the beginning because i expected it would work.
it has never led to any problems in the last 3-4 builds of my own.

BeQuiet sent a reply confirming the details. The answer is yes, this is required. The information isn't an optional 4-pin near the CPU power. It's actually included in the main MB cable. It connects to two ports on the PSU.
