Question about PK keys and Secure Boot absence.
Question about PK keys and Secure Boot absence.
I attempted to upgrade my GFS computer to Windows 11 and suspect I may have damaged the system. All fans operate normally, the PC starts and sometimes restarts before staying on. I removed the CMOS battery, shorted the BIOS pins for a reset, but it still won’t boot. I also tried removing the M.2 drive and using the motherboard HDMI (since I found out my CPU lacks integrated graphics), but TV shows no signal regardless of attempts.
After running MBR2GBT /convert and restarting, I changed BIOS settings to enable PK keys so secure boot could be activated. Now the system doesn’t boot and there’s no display.
Current specs: CPU - Intel I7-9700F, Motherboard - Gigabyte B365M-D3SH Wifi, RAM - Corsair Vengence CL 16 2666MH, GPU - 2070 Super, PSU - High Power HP1-J650GD-F12S.
I’m considering replacing the CPU/MOBO and possibly the PSU, as I’m unfamiliar with the High Power brand. I’ve been working on this for about four hours and am starting to think giving up is the best option.
if PSU anything like the J600, it might be okay - https://forums. Ive seen blank screens after enabling secure boot on amd systems but you converted to MBR before hand, so the usual cause isn't the reason here. try removing ram sticks, see if that makes any difference.
Tried running on 1 and 3, took out 3, then removed 1 and 3 again and put 1 back in, but still not posting
A colleague faced a comparable problem recently. Replacing the CPU with an integrated GPU helped him restore the motherboard.
Compatible model for the motherboard is B365M DS3H WIFI (rev. 1.x) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE U.S.A.
Remove the video card, switch to the built-in processor graphics, revert the settings, and then reinsert the card. THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS I DON'T SUGGEST A PROCESSOR WITHOUT BUILT-IN GRAPHICS, AS IT CAN BE WORTH THE ADDITIONAL 15 DOLLARS.
I bought this PC pre-assembled and recently put it together myself. I gave it to her as a gift, but it didn’t meet my needs. I tried ordering a G5600F to try and improve it, hoping it would work better. It should arrive tomorrow so I can test it out. Since it’s from Amazon, I can return it if it doesn’t function properly. I’m hoping it works and that I might keep it, considering the price was only 40 dollars. Thanks for your advice.
Verify the CPU model name. The designation indicates it lacks an integrated GPU.
