Checked DHCP settings first, then tried again. It seems the static IP was likely set incorrectly.

Check the search results on google.com for the IP 1.1.1.1. If it works, you can resolve records. If not, adjust your /etc/resolv.conf to use a different nameserver. Make sure your other connection issues are resolved.
