I hope I shared this in the correct section, please adjust if needed.
I need some guidance. My son is just starting with PC racing sim games. He’s currently playing Forza Horizon 5. We have an old Force GT wheel and pedals, and it seems like a good time to upgrade.
I’m considering a direct drive wheel base and possibly using my own steering wheel if possible. Would I need an adapter? My goal is to save money while getting the best value within a budget of around $500-700 USD for the wheels, pedals, and a basic shifter. I’m not looking to overspend too much, just aim for the most practical option.

Are there any active members here who are knowledgeable about hardware and can point me in the right direction? Or do you know a good forum or group where I can find ideas? I’m very new to this and would really appreciate some help understanding it better.
