I use the NZXT app to monitor my GPU temperature.
I observed that when I turn on OC but don’t adjust anything (everything stays at default), my GPU fan speed rises and temperatures drop. Why is this happening? Is it acceptable since I’m not changing OC settings?

Yes. The fan speed rise is entirely typical during the initial overclocking phase.

Yes, the fan speed increase is entirely typical when you begin overclocking. Even without adjusting power limits, core clock, or memory clock? It’s still normal for fans to speed up just by turning on the overclocking feature, even if you don’t change the actual clock speeds. If you don’t intend to overclock, it’s best to disable it and let things run as they are.

It just raises my fan speed, which slightly reduces the temperature.

It only raises my fan speed, which slightly reduces the temperature. Turning it on might also allow adjusting the power limit and core clocks.

Yes. The fan speed increase is completely normal when you start overclocking.
paz.ido121 : So the only thing it does is increasing my fan speed and by that lowering the temp in a few degrees?
Enabling it may also unlock the slider bars so you can change the power limit and core clocks if you want to.
I mean that there is something wrong with it if I just enable it, like if I'm not increasing the values its still the same performance?

OC mode typically boosts fan speed and performance a bit. Avoid using Auto OC software; they may lead to issues. Perform adjustments manually. No hazards or dangers with the latest GPUs.

Zebarjadi.raouf: OC mode generally raises fan speed and performance a bit. Avoid using Auto OC software—they might create issues. Manual overclocking is safer. No hazards with the latest GPUs. Reference: It's not an automatic OC, but it's done manually. Thanks. I'm dealing with PSU issues, so I've ordered the Corsair CX550M to prevent damaging my GPU until I install a new PSU.
