In the video, I see my NZXT H1 experiencing unusual sounds from the power supply during startup, especially when booting or idle in Windows. Generally, I haven’t seen any major instability, though there was a black screen in Warzone 2.0—possibly related to the PSU, but it seems more likely an issue with that game. My 5600X doesn’t have a VSS pin next to the gold triangle under the CPU, but it functions fine otherwise. I also noticed that when this coil whine or sparking occurs during startup of the unused second monitor, it briefly powers off and then restarts. Could the missing VSS pin be affecting the PSU?

The thread may be closed because the main issue was the melted PSU power cord. The fuse was rusty and old, causing it to melt itself, which in turn affected the PSU’s protection and other components. After replacing the original one from this case, the problem disappeared. The PSU now runs much cooler, there are no sparking noises, and even during stress testing, the new power cord remained cool with no warmth detected. If you have any questions about why the old power cord and fuse caused these problems, I’m happy to help. Could it be that they were indeed old?

Overheating of the power cord results from poor contact, such as a loose connection or a rusted fuse that diminishes the quality of the connection.
