The standard position means the cooler sits flat against the PCIe slot without any extra overhang. Since your cooler has NM-AMB4 mounting bars, you should use them to secure it properly in that standard setup.

due to the way ryzen is built, heat tends to gather more on one side of the IHS rather than in the center (intel is positioned in the middle). as a result, some cooling solutions allow mounting the cooler 'offset' to avoid covering the central area, directing it toward the hotter side. this also means your large heatsink might now be blocking PCIe ports.
