Hi guys, I'm having an issue. A few days ago, I tested my GPU using OC with the MSI Afterburner. I set the core clock and memory clock to their maximums, ran a test, and then the AMD stop function appeared. I reset it back to defaults. The max values are 1650 for core clock and 2250 for memory clock, while the default settings are 1268 for core clock and 1750 for memory clock. I didn't adjust fan speed, voltage, temperature limit, or power limit.

Everything seems fine now—temperature stays below 55°C during games, but sometimes during LoL I get a Windows sound error and the game crashes. The monitor doesn’t go black, but I can’t restart the PC. Maybe it’s the game or something else? I’m new and it feels like my fault. Please help me understand if using the MSI Afterburner could damage the GPU.

Not unless you used an absurd voltage, but you didn’t. I’d remove Afterburner and install the drivers fresh.

Hi, I didn't follow your instructions because everything was fine for a couple of days, nothing occurred. But today the issue came back while playing lol—it crashed again. I could open the task manager and programs, but I couldn't use them; only the screen of lol remained frozen, and I couldn't close it. Still, I could chat with my friend who was still in the game. I plan to uninstall msi afterburner and reinstall drivers. If the problem continues, what should I do? You mentioned the card is fine since I didn’t touch the voltages, but it keeps happening even after setting both clocks to default. I don’t want to say anything foolish, but I noticed a guy on Facebook with the same card as me, same country, and the exact same problem. He tried psu, ram, and many other things, yet it still happens. So I’m not sure if I should blame myself or something else—maybe the GPU? Unless this person is just as clueless as me and did a beast OC, that would explain it.

Search for SW solutions first. I have an Asus ROG x570 that is fixed at core clock 1430 and memory 1877, which is quite a good limit for regular use without issues.

Another thing I didn't mention is that I have Windows 8.1 64-bit, the 570 drivers are only available for 32 and 64 bits, and I still use Windows 10 because my brother installed it a few months ago, regardless of which version I use.

Yes, drivers on W8 are an issue—they don’t create new ones. It might be better to switch to W10; everything functions more smoothly and the interface is easier to adjust.

Hi there, I just reinstalled AMD drivers, ran ccleaner, removed the MSI afterburner and the bundled software. Before testing, I tried removing the 570 GPU and checked my integrated graphics. The first game worked fine, the second froze completely and I had to restart, and the third again—only twice in a day. I saw someone on LoL forums with the same issue, saying the game was the culprit and nothing helped. It seems it’s only affected that one game, unlike my IGPU which worked when online or playing other titles. I think it might be the game itself, not my actions. I also scored well on the 570 benchmark, so I’m sure everything is okay for me. Thanks a lot, let me know if it happens with another game or if you have updates. Have a great day!

It's fun then, knowing it's not homework.
