Question about memory
If DDR6 RAM had been released, it would need to fit on motherboards capable of handling it. This might delay its launch since new memory slots would require updated boards. It wouldn’t necessarily stall the release, but creating compatible boards would be essential.
A fresh memory system would probably need a different connection point, yet it wouldn't cause delays. Experts say companies coordinate to handle tasks simultaneously and prepare around the same time.
Memories follow guidelines set by JEDEC. Major firms such as AMD, Intel, Micron, Hynix, Samsung, etc., help shape these standards and have early access to draft versions. This allows them to begin developing memory chips, chipsets, and controllers for processors. They can also make minor adjustments once the official standard is released. If a new memory format is substantially different, you might need to replace the RAM slot and processor socket.
