I was using 9Anime with an adblocker, but no pop-up blocker was active. It redirected me to another page and immediately downloaded a file called helloworld.ms.js. I removed it right away. My concern is whether I could still be infected even though the file wasn’t opened and was deleted quickly. I also noticed that boot times were a bit longer before the Windows logo appeared. If infected, what steps should I take to fix the problem?

Open Windows Defender (search all files, may require time). Alternatively, you can use Malwarebytes for free to check.

If you removed the file and didn’t execute it, you should be okay. Harmful sites can’t affect your computer unless the malware they attempt to download is run. If you do end up running it, Windows Defender typically blocks it before any damage occurs.
