Question about local network
Looks like the problem might be with me. I’m still having trouble loading the page.
Included documentation was provided. Please insert the disk. Connect to the network using ethernet (gateway, router or switch). Proceed with the setup.
It's not a huge issue... My main concern is whether the network will be able to manage it.
It doesn’t matter which router the ISP provides. Your devices should use 1 gbps Ethernet cards. This allows all computers—including the NAS—to link to a network switch or router (if it has sufficient ports) and then transfer files between them at speeds up to 1 gbps (about 125 MB/s), provided the hard drives can handle that rate. If the router’s speed is capped at 100 Mbps, you can install a switch with at least five 1 Gbps ports and connect the “WAN” port (or a suitable port) to the router using an Ethernet cable. If your NAS supports a 10 Gbps card, you might purchase a switch with a corresponding port, enabling the NAS to connect at over 1.2 GB/s, potentially delivering files to ten computers each at up to 1 Gbps or 125 MB/s. Affordable options often include a few 1 Gbps ports plus one or two SFP+ ports that can reach 10 Gbps. With these switches, you can acquire a 30–50 dollar 10 Gbps optical card and use a DAC cable to link it to the switch.
