I recommend starting with checking your current cooling setup and thermal paste condition. Since you haven’t updated the paste since 2010, it’s worth evaluating whether it still provides adequate heat transfer. If the situation remains stable, consider replacing the cooler rather than relying on the existing one. Your ASUS P7H55M motherboard should support a new cooler without major issues.

I wouldn't push for overclocking. You won't see much improvement with the stock cooler, and a better one would be worth more than just a CPU upgrade that offers only marginal gains.
I might look into swapping to a compatible I7 model such as these options:

They're quite outdated, and production has stopped. The current market values them as overpriced used items.

Well, the last time I checked online, the 2500 was around php4000 while the i5 760 was about php6000. Php is the Philippine currency. Thanks for the info! Just a quick question 😊
