I am planning to wait until early next year to purchase a GPU for my replacement system. I frequently watch Tech Notice on YouTube, where he creates videos tailored for content creators. He mentioned in a 2024 video that when it comes to rendering and encoding quality—not speed—I believe Intel is the top choice. Previously, I intended to opt for an Intel Xeon CPU workstation, as its integrated GPUs are said to enhance performance significantly compared to AMD options. However, I ultimately chose the AMD Threadripper 9960X. What caught my attention was that Intel Arc GPUs come with built-in H264/H265 encoders and decoders, similar to Intel iGPU configurations. This means not only do they offer superior rendering/encoding performance, but they also include these components internally. I’m unsure how well an Intel Arc would perform in programs like Davinci Resolve compared to AMD or Nvidia systems. Would it be noticeably slower or less effective? I plan to use both Premiere Pro and Resolve for encoding. I’m considering a dual or even triple GPU setup, possibly combining a B780 with an RTX 5080 Super. I’m curious about the stability of such a configuration. My goal is to maximize performance from each brand within one system. Perhaps even adding two Arc B780 units and an RTX 5080 Super. I’ll be handling 8K video rendering and potentially 17K videos in the future. Would you think that Intel Arc B780 would be a suitable choice for my setup? It will definitely be more affordable, even if it only matches the speed of a RTX 5070. My priority is achieving high-quality video output over raw performance. Most of my projects use H264 or H265 formats, though I occasionally work with RAW codecs from my source material.

Do you believe the Intel Arc B780 would fit well with your setup? The GPU hasn't been officially announced yet (release). I think it's best to wait for reviews once it becomes widely available, as launch day updates are mainly for hype. While Intel's driver team seems promising, it will only be clear after benchmarks and real-world testing confirm their value. On paper it looks great, but in practice things can differ. My two thoughts.

If this were the A770, it connects to your earlier inquiries about its implications.
