Hello, I’m setting up to buy two sets of identical 2x32 3200mhz RAM modules, totaling four sticks with 128GB of memory. I’ll be using an i9-10900 and noticed on Intel’s site that the maximum number of memory channels is two. Does this imply the CPU will only recognize two of those RAM sticks, even though the motherboard supports four slots?

Memory channels refer to the pathways the CPU uses to talk to RAM modules. This explains why you need separate slots for each stick—so they send data over distinct channels to the processor. It’s similar to a PCIe connection, just for memory.

They're setting up channels with specific slot allocations. It means using four sticks, two on each channel. You don't necessarily need 128GB RAM for this configuration.
