Question about freezing and artifacting
Question about freezing and artifacting
Hi guys, help is needed.
My PC stopped booting and showed a black screen with no signal, but the fans were still spinning. I thought it was related to the GPU or the GPU slot on the motherboard.
I swapped the AORUS X470 motherboard for an MSI X470, but I bent a few CPU pins because it fell out of place. After straightening them and changing the thermal paste, the PC started booting again with the display working properly.
However, it still had problems like freezing and artifacts. After reinstalling Windows and resetting everything, including the RAM slots, it worked for a day or so.
Now it’s happening again, and I’m unsure what to do next. What should I check to figure out which part is causing the issue?
It seems like moving the RAM sticks helps temporarily.
I’m not sure if it’s the GPU, the RAM, the new motherboard RAM slots, or the CPU that might have been damaged during the swap.

I reinstalled Windows.
Where did you obtain the installer for the OS?
