Question about ddr5
Hello, your XPG Lancer DDR5 RAM has an estimated speed of around 5800 MHz. You currently have two 16GB sticks and are thinking about adding more for better performance. You’re considering four sticks in total and want to know the pros and cons. With an Intel i7-13700K and only enabling XMP, you’re curious if using four sticks would affect performance.
It won't damage your computer, though it will increase the strain on the memory controller. Your CPU might face problems with RAM speed, but in the end, adding more RAM usually provides better performance compared to the slight slowdown. EDIT: With four sticks, most CPUs seem to struggle at speeds over 5200MT/s as well.
Use the same setup but run at reduced speeds like 5200 or 5600. You won’t get the fastest performance, but you’ll have more memory available. If you’re drawn to the look and don’t need extra RAM, consider using placeholder drives.
I'm sure about this because of my solid setup. You're asking about performance numbers and hardware specs. It's not about how much RAM you have, but how efficiently your system runs. I've got 4 x G.Skill Flare X5 chips, running at 6000 MHz with EXPO enabled—no problems there. It might just work as expected. If you're curious, feel free to try it and let me know what happens. Just keep in mind, more RAM isn't always better unless you need it for specific tasks.
Check the current performance in the task manager's memory area. My system is at 6400.
You're referring to a production rate of 6000MT per second—amazing!
It's not the same as C30, but it's still good. I got one from a microcenter bundle first, then bought another later. It performed right away without any adjustments. I think it combines solid RAM, higher latency, a strong memory controller, and a reliable motherboard. I really appreciate the quality of the RAM.
