Question about CPU memory speed compared to RAM.
Question about CPU memory speed compared to RAM.
Simple inquiry. My CPU's memory rate is 2933, but my RAM is 3466, which the motherboard supports. If I configure my RAM to 3466, will the CPU actually utilize it at those speeds or will it become a bottleneck at 2933? I've set it to 3466 and it's running at that speed, but just because the RAM is fast doesn't guarantee the CPU can handle it. Thanks.
When the memory clock speed is set to 3466, the system operates at that frequency and the CPU utilizes it accordingly. However, stability might be affected if timings or DIMM voltage weren't adjusted for compatibility with the higher speed. It's recommended to perform a memory test using tools like HCI MemTest, ensuring each test block runs at 200%.
