Question about Corsair 3500x case fans.
Question about Corsair 3500x case fans.
I recently completed a case swap, including exchanging my motherboard and CPU as well.
The current configuration is:
Case: corsair 3500x
Ryzen 9 9900x
Gigabyte 3080
Aorus b650 elite AX ICE
4x16gb ddr5
Corsair H150I CPU cooler
My concern is that the RGB case fans are not adjustable and default to a rainbow cycle. For reference, I purchased three additional fans matching the case to reach six total, which should allow me to modify settings.
These fans connect directly to the motherboard via the "ARGB_V2_3" port. Everything available online suggests loading ICUE to set RGB colors and fan speeds. But this isn’t working for me, especially with my Corsair H150I cooler. The main problem is that the fans aren’t changing as expected.
I’ve connected them to the motherboard’s ARGB_V2_3 port. Is there anything I’m doing incorrectly?
For clarity, which header connects your ARGB fans? Because you can chain them together, it might be better to assign three fans per header. As for the ARGB headers, since you can daisy-chain them, consider grouping the fans into sets of three per header. On a side note; the support page mentions a firmware update for the ARGB controller—check Gigabyte's control center and try using the Fusion app to adjust the lighting.
Here is a revised version of your text:
I appreciate your response. I have them connected at the bottom left of the motherboard, specifically on the port named "ARGB_V2_". All six daisy chains are linked to that single port.
I'm trying to set up these connections and they are functioning properly, but I'm having trouble changing the colors.
I've attached a link to my motherboard:

And here are the fans I'm attempting to control:

My concern is that the RGB case fans don’t adjust, they stick to a rainbow pattern. For reference, I purchased three more of the same fans that came with the case, bringing the total to six, which need to be set up properly. These are the Corsair RS120 Fans. They all connect together and link into the motherboard. What I see online suggests just using ICUE to fill in the settings for RGB color and fan speed. But that doesn’t work here (this is different from my Corsair H150 cooler). The main problem is that the fans aren’t changing as expected.
I’ve connected them to the motherboard port labeled "ARGB_V2_3". The setup looks like a chain on the bottom left. Are I doing something incorrectly?
Right now, all six fans are daisy chained together. Could anyone point me in the right direction and tell me where to connect each one?

Please share the details of your water cooling setup (type and model).
I own the Corsair H150I but it's fully controllable. That's not my concern.
My problem lies with the 6x case fans (rs120) that are daisy chained and plugged straight into the motherboard. They aren't showing up in ICUE, and Gigabyte's RGB 2.0 isn't detecting them either. I think I might not have connected them to the right ports.

Corsair H150I doesn't have rs120 fans
If you own a Corsair hub, the fans can be connected there so speeds can be adjusted via the ICUE. The RGB connectors will return to your motherboard, and you'll manage them through the motherboard app.
When the daisy chain is removed and only one fan is connected to the header, the system's operation alters.
The (3) fans included with the case are RS120. I added three more RS120 fans, bringing the total to six inside the case. All of them are connected together in a chain, linked to one port on the motherboard. These fans won't allow me to control the RGB settings.
The CPU cooler has three fans installed, but I'm not experiencing any problems with them. This doesn't affect the situation since they're managed through a Corsair hub.
