Your current board might not handle the i5 9600k well, so you're right to consider the i7 6700k instead. The H110M-A (LGA 1151) chipset is still compatible with older processors, but keep in mind its age could affect performance over time.

You can locate a range of compatible CPUs for most motherboards by visiting their official manufacturer pages. The i5 9600K isn’t suitable for this board. Remember, you won’t be able to push the performance of an i7 6700K onto a H110 platform.
