I have an Asus laptop that came with Windows 11. I've used it for a few months and it's okay but I thought I would try reverting back to Windows 10. It's just better. So I have a new 1 TB M.2 and swapped it out. I then installed Windows 10 with a media creation thumbdrive. Windows installed and I updated the asus drivers and windows drivers. It seemed to work fine with the exception of no audio through the laptop speakers. The small speaker icon in the system tray has a red x over it. When I open sound settings I have no speaker or mic installed. I did download and installed audio driver from asus website. Are Windows 11 laptops not backward compatible with Windows 10? Aren't they built on the same architecture? If I can't figure out a solution I'll just go back to Windows 11.

It depends on whether your computer has a driver for Windows 10 installed.
