CPU - 3970X Threadripper Motherboard - ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha GPU (twin SLI) 3090. Supports up to 5 M.2 drives. Starting with 5 is possible, but may be adjusted later. Question 1: With two 3090s (SLI or not), will the board run both at 16x or 16x/8x? Question 2: Adding five M.2 drives, will it affect GPU performance—will it be 8x/8x or 8x/4x? Thanks for your help!

You have 88 PCIe lanes available. Running two GPUs at full performance and using four M.2 SSDs simultaneously should work smoothly without affecting each other.
