I know that on certain motherboards, some slots might be turned off when using another component. The manual doesn't mention this issue with this board. I've been using onboard graphics (4600 ryzen) and the X4 slot along with the PCIe X1 slot. I require an additional X4 slot. Can I repurpose the X16 slot, which is meant for a video card, as an X4 slot since I'm using processor graphics and not a video card? Please confirm before ordering the X4 expansion card.

The PCIE 4.0 x16 port should work well with an x4 card. Make sure your board doesn't have two x16 slots and one x1 slot. All current Asrock B550M models (as per their website) with three slots support PCIE 4.0 x16, PCIE 3.0 x16, and PCIE 3.0 x1.

The leading slot is linked to the PCI-E connections on the CPU, while the remaining ones usually connect to the chipset. This top slot works well with an expansion card.
