Question about am4 locking lever
Last week I bought Asus b450m tuf gaming pro II and immediately after picking the mobo noticed some rattle coming from the socket area. Upon further inspection the rattle is coming from the locking lever ... it is moving side to side quite a bit and it is very loose in both positions (up and down) when there is no CPU in it. When you install CPU rattle and movement is gone. I am used to Foxconn sockets where the lever is sturdy and super nice to move even when there is no CPU installed. This socket is Lotes and its my first time seeing such brand. Is this normal with Lotes sockets?

12-18-2017, 12:56 PM #3I'm inquiring since every motherboard I've worked with before used Foxconn connectors with extremely tight levers, even without a CPU connected.

12-22-2017, 02:06 AM #4I've worked with an AM4 socket that doesn't hold very securely once it's locked. Last time I tried to remove a CPU, the cooler caused some damage to the pins, but I managed to fix it without too much trouble.
