Not necessary. It's a solid unit. Tier A on the site listed above. Even if made in 2017 and used since 2020, it remains viable for about seven years.

Although it's nice, the cable confusion remains a major issue for me. My PSU only provides two 6+2 PCI-E ports. If the Manufacturers 8x2 Adapter functions then the problem is resolved (I believe), but otherwise the thought that I might damage my GPU or PSU is quite worrying for someone already confused by all this.

Using the original Corsair Type 4 2x 8 pin to 12VHPWR cables works perfectly. You don't have to invest heavily in a new power supply.
