Searching for some assistance
My i7 4790K has just arrived. I intend to overclock and my motherboard is an Asrock Z97 Pro4.
The case I have is a Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5 RGB:
http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tow...ite-5-rgb/
I’m using two fans in front (aigo120 rgb’s), and I can add a third if necessary.
I’m seeking advice on CPU cooling. Should I:
Choose a big air cooler (like Noctura), install a radiator with two 120m fans behind the case, or fit a 240/280 radiator/fans on the front of the case?
I’d also like to consider an overclock and aim for stability. Any suggestions?
I’ve read other discussions about this model before. Thanks!

As someone focused on water cooling, most premium air coolers end up being the top choice for the majority of users seeking performance. High-end AIOs with ample radiator space, such as a 360mm rad, tend to surpass air coolers in efficiency, though they come at a higher price point.

If you're not ready to invest in water cooling, opt for a premium air cooler and don't hesitate—water cooling, particularly custom setups, demands more upkeep than many realize. The key advantage of air coolers lies in their suitability for available space, which you have.

For a 4790k, consider good options like the Noctua NH-D14/15, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, or Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3.

I would match closely to a water cooling setup. If your unit can accommodate bigger radiators (240/280), consider that option.

There is a lot of debate in this topic but IMO you should go with a high quality air cooler. They are consistently quieter and perform better than AIO coolers. The ultimate cooling system would be a custom loop but that is expensive and unnecessary. Get yourself a high quality air cooler and OC away!
Hope this helps!

As someone focused on water cooling, most premium air coolers end up being the top choice for people aiming to hit the OCs. High-end AIOs with ample radiator space, such as a 360mm rad, tend to surpass high-end air coolers, though they come at a higher price.

If you're not ready to invest in water cooling, opt for a premium air cooler and don’t hesitate—water cooling, particularly custom setups, demands more upkeep than many realize. The key with air coolers is having the necessary space available.

For a 4790k, options like Noctua NH-D14/15, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3, or Cryorig R1 will suffice and meet your needs.
