Question 9600KF 5GHz OC that has just a 1.2V voltage
I am pretty new to OCs, so I tried an overclocking based on a video guide and ended up with this result. Nothing has crashed yet, and Cinebench runs fine while AIDA64 stress test passes too. My question is: why is the voltage around 1.2V under load instead of reaching the 1.350V that I set in the BIOS? The settings are as follows: CPU Core/Cache Voltage on Manual mode, CPU Core Voltage Override set to 1.350V, and XMP II enabled. Asus MultiCore Enhancement is also disabled. Hey there. That is called voltage droop. It happens when you turn the voltage up manually. When the CPU works hard, the voltage can drop below what you set. This is normal stuff. You can try to fix it by using LLC technology. But be careful not to use it too much or set it too high, because that could cause over-voltage. Try turning LLC down a bit on your motherboard and see if it makes the droop less noticeable.
Should I stick with the LLC setting if I'm stable without trying it? Could messing with that hurt my processor? Is it working well so I'll leave it alone?
