Hello,
Last night I attempted to connect my VR headset to the graphics card and one of my monitors stopped working. I tried some troubleshooting steps but gave up, planning to fix it tomorrow morning.

The next day, when I powered on, the monitor appeared but only displayed 640x480 resolution. This is lower than the original 1920x1080 secondary monitor. In the display settings, the resolution change option is hidden at 640x480 and not editable.

Curiously, using the same cable and switching from GPU to motherboard for integrated graphics works perfectly. The issue seems to be with the HDMI port. I’ve reinstalled the drivers through DDU and tried safe boot. Removing all other monitors still leaves this one unrecognized as anything but 480p.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Initially I would remove the card from the system and check the HDMI you mentioned for any damage or a worn connector. Another option is to insert the card into another known working system and observe if the GPU's port functions similarly.

When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide your complete system specifications. List them clearly as follows:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.

I don’t have another functional PC at home to test, unfortunately. The HDMI port looks fine, nothing immediately suspicious. CPU is Intel i7-14700K, cooler is NZXT Kraken Elite, motherboard is MSI PRO Z790-A MAX WIFI, BIOS version M.70. RAM is CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 at 1600 MHz. Storage includes a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD/HDD. GPU is Radeon RX 7900 XTX, power supply is CORSAIR RMx Series RM1000x ATX, chassis Hyte Y60, running Windows 10. Monitor details are unclear. Sorry for the delayed reply!
