I observed that with a polling rate of 500-1000ms on hwinfo64, the idle temps were around 38c-40c, but at 100ms they reported 50c. This might be due to sensors being checked rapidly, leading to higher readings. Also, with 1000ms polling, cinebench r23 scored 17,800 versus 16,000 at 100ms.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Higher polling rates mean you tax the CPU more.
Please list your build specs in this format:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Also include the age of the PSU, along with its make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.

It's not about the mouse polling speed, but the polling rate for temperature detection on hwinfo64

You may see reduced performance when running benchmarks alongside other applications. The polling frequency influences sensor checking intervals, which increases CPU usage.
