The release date for GTA 6 has not been officially announced yet.
Even if someone here did, they'd still be bound by an NDA and wouldn't share it with you.
It generates revenue because GTA Online continues to attract players and sustain a profitable business model.
I think it's slated to come out after Half Life 3 drops. Might come out slightly before Star Wars 1313 though, if we're lucky.
GTA VI seems to be as distant from development as Elder Scrols VI might be. They're not ignoring it—they're definitely working on it, but these games are massive projects, which means they naturally take longer to complete. As for what GTA VI will look like, I'm uncertain. GTA V already struggled with single-player content, especially when compared to earlier 3D titles and the popularity of GTA Online. It's likely they'll focus more on online features, though my expectations for a dedicated DLC in GTA VI are low.
They mentioned it would come out two and a half years back. Also, GTA 6 brings together every map from previous titles. It could generate significantly more revenue.
